Learning from the industries finest in both pet styling and breed specific grooming we then set the bar higher by entering our work at both dog shows as well as against the world's most qualified stylist at many grooming top competitions Your ego can take a beating when standing in the ring with world champions and along side the current Pet stylist of the year. Often this was a learning opportunity, and who better to learn from but the best. We have proven ourselves worthy in all levels. Good enough is NOT good enough in this salon. We do not harness ourselves by limits many groomers and big box stores deal with, cost and bargains don't drive our purchases. We choose products because they work, usually they cost more than most, we understand that, and your dog's coat will show it. Products improve constantly, and we stay on top of the current trends. We use products only after a intensive trial on our own dogs of all type and ages. If it isn't good enough for our champions, then it isn't good enough for your dog! This is family salon, some of us literally grew up in this salon, your dog will visit with the same stylist every trip. We take the time to learn about you and your dog, his/her's lifestyle and personality. Your pet will become one of our *extended family*! We LIKE dogs! It not just a job, it is our PASSION! We don't charge extra for grooming correctly, it's just part of the service! We use only the finest pet products, Vellus, Les Pooch, Coat Handler, Isle of Dogs, etc, if the coat or skin needs extra care the appropriate medicated shampoos are used. Dog are shampooed twice, once to lift the dirt and oils in/on the hair and skin and remove, the second shampoo to cleanse the hair and skin to a sparkling glimmer. ALL pets receive coat conditioner after cleansing to renew the natural health of the hair and skin. After bathing all dogs nails are trimmed and filed, coat is brushed and blow dried to remove dead hair (de-shedding of double coated breeds are considered a Groom-Plus due to time involved). Hair is removed from pads and around feet. Dogs are then spritzed with the *LES POOCH* fragrance of the season. All pets receive bows or bandanna if requested!We STRONGLY recommend the regular use of FRONTLINE top spot, ADVANTAGE, or REVOLUTION to prevent parasites. ANY dog entering for grooming or boarding NOT on the above products (within three weeks) found to have fleas will be treated with Capstar, Frontline or Advantage at an extra charge |
Like all professionals we not only charge for our skills but we also charge for the time required to perform these skills. Giving set prices in grooming is a bit difficult. I refuse to penalize the diligent pet owner who brings in a un-matted, parasite free well mannered dog on a regular basis, while in effective rewarding the owner who has a dog that needs more control, and work. So while I am giving a START line for charges, I will change for dogs needing more time in the beauty routine. Also, While we love doing your pet *just* they way you want it, if you choose to have *poodle* feet on a non-poodle breed (or mix) understand that many of these dogs are very much against the idea, so there may be a extra charge. We welcome dogs that have behavior problems, actually like them, with the understanding that we work to correct the behavior as well managing it. If your dog is a difficult dog they will require owner participation, at home with training, and possibly in the shop. Difficult dogs are taken on a trial basis and at this time no dog over 40 lbs are accepted. For dogs with severe fears, the need for medication for safety might be recommended. Your veterinarian must administer this before drop off and we must be notified when making the appointment. A word or two about matting! Simply put, we don't do mats. After nearly 40 years of grooming we have reached the point that we simply do not want to abuse dogs by pulling and ripping out mats any more. We generally will give owners one chance, provided it is not a serious mat case, ONCE. But there will be a charge, it is not easy work for groomers or dogs. If after that, if your dog's lifestyle proves to busy to allow for the time needed to maintain a lot of coat then there are two ways to solve the mat problem. The first is a shorter simpler coat that will not need the upkeep. Secondly if owner want the longer style then more trips to the groomer is needed. We prefer weekly or bi-monthly for heavy coated or drop coated dogs. |
